Meanwhile, in another reality, separate from that of Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps, Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz are undergoing new training at the hands of Guy Gardner and Kyle Rayner, respectively. Guy is no different as a training officer than usual, while Kyle takes a more cerebral approach.

The chapter concludes as one might expect, but its effect will have wait until next issue. Could mean trouble, or it could be the desired effect said training officers were aiming for.

MEANWHILE… Volthoom, occupying the body of one-time Guardian Rami, has learned an unfortunate secret of the Green Lantern Corps. Whether it will lead to his exposure or his eventual victory over the others remains to be seen. Either way, it will mean trouble for all those involved in this particular Green Lantern title. How – or IF – it affects those in the other book remains to be seen.

Perhaps the lore of the Green Lanterns will lead to a diminished Corps, with only a handful of individuals wielding a power ring. Perhaps an ancient warrior will rise once more to fight alongside the GL’s in the coming crisis. Or perhaps Jessica will remain a white circle indefinitely, assuming she remains in the Corps at all.

Stay tuned.
