I love a good train murder mystery-type story. There's very little mystery, but there is a murder, and it's on a train. Not just any train – the Empire Express, an underwater railway between Shanghai and Seattle, built in secret. Sounds unbelievable, even in comic book terms, but in the world of masked heroes and maniacal villains, you forgive a lot.

Green Arrow, Black Canary and Diggle see the train as their ticket home, and sneak aboard – barely. They are separated and spend much of the story wandering around, trying to locate one another. Meanwhile, a gathering of the world dignitaries is on board, making it the perfect target for – AH, but that would be telling. Sorry kids, no spoilers here.

I enjoyed the issue, though the story is not yet finished. I have every expectation that the entire infrastructure of the railway will be completely demolished by the time Green Arrow is done with it. Cuz that's how he rolls. Subtlety and finesse are not necessarily his watchwords.

Juan Ferreyra is back in the artist's chair, doing his usual stellar job. I like the strategy of multiple artists trading off storylines, while maintaining a reasonably consistent visual style. On the whole, Green Arrow continues to satisfy. I can't say that about many of the Rebirth titles I've read.
