Dominic Sena (incidentally, he is a fan of the graphic novel) directs the big screen adaptation of Greg Ruckas' WhiteoutAnd as mentioned previously, Kate Beckinsale takes the lead role in an otherwise ensemble cast (that includes the ever reliable Tom Skerrit and The Spirits' Gabriel Macht).  Whiteout was previously touted as being a 2008 release, but will now be released in September of this year.

Who Goes There (Film Reference)?

Filmed almost exclusively in Canada and set in the Antarctic, Beckinsale plays the sole U.S. Marshall (Carrie Stetko) in antartica, who is called upon to investigate a murder on a less than friendly base. Gabriel Macht plays a UN operative who is also trying to solve the murder. Their task becomes all the more onerous when a storm blows in and with the rapid onset of a six month arctic winter (totally dark) adding extra tension to the investigation. This should be a good one! I like a good mystery, so I am looking forward to this.
