The X-Men face off against the Dark X-Men and the Dark Avengers over the fate of the island of Utopia, the new home for mutants that just obtained its independence from the United States as a new haven for persecuted mutants. Will Norman Osborn and his thugs be able to defeat Cyclops and his crew and gain control over the lives of mutants?

Exodus is the final of the weekly crossover pitting the X-Men versus Norman Osborn and it was a good finale that effectively tied the world of the X-Men strongly to the regular Marvel universe, while offering a lot of future opportunities for the X-Men in the future. It’s amazing that the Dark Reign storyline, of which the Utopia affair is but a subplot of, is more enjoyable to read than past stories about the X-Men. It ties in the crossover nicely and one can only expect better from future stories. This issue was short on character development and only hinted at the fights, but it was still satisfying.

Deodato and Dodson offered the type of visual that makes one wish the story read could last forever. It was just fun to see the potential fights and the various set ups. Some of it was confusing though and may have something to do with the large cast used in this comic book. Nonetheless, it’s still something worth collecting.
