He has a new job for the assassin that involves retrieving his old suit from an anarchist named the Raptor. Christopher Priest is careful in writing this issue. If you’ve read the previous filler issues with the Creeper, you will notice that all details and continuity match well. This story fills in the details from before Deathstroke met the Creeper in Chicago. It’s a quiet issue, if that’s possible for Deathstroke. Priest is setting more conflicts for him. Deathstroke was particularly creepy when he crept into his son and his bride while they were sleeping. I wonder when Deathstroke will attempt to kill his son. I also wonder why Joe’s bride seem to know Deathstroke. I have a feeling that the Raptor, the new anarchist antagonist will not last very long and will be killed off quickly next issue. I can’t imagine him surviving Deathstroke very long. Larry Hama continues to guide the breakdowns of the artists working on this series and it shows. Joe Bennett is usually a great artist and I don’t recall ever complaining about his storytelling. But with Hama, the story seems more dynamic. Mark Morales also helps a lot with the fine inking.
