Slade Wilson wants to know why and who is responsible for this, after having rescued Wintergreen recently. It’s all about family for Deathstroke who has to school his daughter in the art of being a mercenary. Will she survive her father? After a series of complicated issues which did not make much sense, even for this long time Deathstroke fan, this one was finally enjoyable. Priest cannot help himself and he has to make even a set up job a complicated affair, but here he does it with grace. Rose is much more of a airhead here and her father Deathstroke is here to prove his point, even if that means saying that Nightwing is an idiot. This is a fine caper. The connection to the previous stories is tedious but the story is moving into Bat-territory. Joe Bennett is an old time 2000s DC Comics artist who could draw good looking women. I’m glad that he is back for this issue as it focuses on Ravager. Bennett is a pro. His work follows the lead established by Carlo Pagulayan but with less flash. What he loses in flash, he makes up in solid storytelling and a double-cross set up that remarkably enhances Priest’ complicated premise.
