Hello faithful Binquiring Minds,

You are, each and every one of you, the reason this site exists and I am thankful our little news roundup has garnered the support and audience it has. Truly, looking at all those behind-the-scenes numbers, it is great to see out corner of the internet thrive. Which is what makes this that much harder.
As you probably know, we here at the ComicBookBin hold a few values above all else and we fully recognize these values cost us views. We publish longer comic reviews that go much further than “Wasn’t that awesome when ____ punched ____, also art” for a few reasons. One, there really is no other place giving this sort of digestible attention to the more mainstream efforts in comics. Either we get essay-length reviews for academics or a sort of curiosity filled with condescension. Here at The Bin, we love our mainstream comics and we want to talk about why, what works and what doesn’t, and our love. Herve, Andy, and Philip have done this for years in their columns and reviews and our dedicated writers bring content, as you know, that is different from everything else. This is because we value intelligence and integrity, both from ourselves and in our readership. The same goes for news.
The internet is overrun with people who have figured out two things:
1. If you use words like “allegedly,” “apparently,” or “reportedly,” you can say pretty much whatever you want.
2. This lets you write attention-grabbing headlines that are speculation or straight lies parading around as news. Most of the bigger comic book websites are especially guilty of such practices, which makes the #Binquirer that much more difficult.
Every story you see at the #Binquirer may only be a couple of sentences, but there is literally hours behind each edition. From the basic who, what, where, when, why, and how of the stories, there is the posting and tracing down story origins. This is why the #Binquirer has generally shied away from stupid stories like “leaked” Fantastic Four scripts and “rumoured” castings: they are often untrue and sometimes difficult to spot exactly why.
So, the time burden of the #Binquirer has led us to make the decision to publish it a couple of times less a week. The time burden is the main reason, but the simple lack of news sometimes in a day means we have started resorting to words like “allegedly” and “reportedly.” This is unaceptable by our standards and so we will be moving to a Monday, Wednesday, and Friday schedule. This will cut down on the #Binquirer’s erratic publishing now and keep giving you quality, well-researched stories.
I sincerely apologize for this reduction and it will probably be temporary, but I hope you still tune in on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for the best news we can possibly deliver.
Binquiring Minds, as I have come to refer to you, are the best and we hope you keep making the Comic Book Bin as special as it is.
