The deceased members of the Justice Society of America continue their assaults on their living counterparts after having freed the Earth Two Superman and reanimated him as a Black Lantern. Time is limited and it’s up to the cunning and will of the JSA to stop one of the most powerful threat on Earth. But what chances do they hold when even Power Girl seems hopeless.

This is another interesting read with this series that is actually marginally more interesting than some of the regular storylines readers have been served recently. The sense that defeating their former companions is an impossible task is reinforced constantly. The one issue I have with this story is that they forced the reuse of the Earth Two Superman in another series as a Black Lantern after he was summarily defeated by Superman in another series. It almost feels like the writers lacked imagination.

Series like these are good to give less known artists opportunities to shine and show their work to a larger audience. This, is done well, although Barrows is hardly a newcomer. I enjoyed his interpretation of several of the characters and how solid they felt.
