Black Canary faces off with the assassin Merlyn while trying to deal with the shocking loss of her adopted daughter, Sin. This issue is really just another prelude to the big Green Arrow-Black Canary wedding but they still manage to tell a good story in the process. The suspense over whether the Canary will accept Green Arrow's proposal-- and the 'surprise' ending is rather blunted since we have all seen the advertisements for the upcoming wedding special. But at least the creative team makes the plot interesting by keeping the action fast-moving and dynamic. The art is nothing great but it shows a great deal of professionalism. All the characters are recognizable and all the panels are set up well. Some people may complain about the way the young girl, "Sin" was conveniently removed from Black Canary's life but at least the writers ended the whole 'League of Assassins' plotline that could have gone on for years and years.
