Although I like this series, like much of the Secret Invasion crossover, it turns into a butchering party where Skrulls are eviscerated in all manners every few pages. But this series goes father. Skrulls are barbecued and eaten as hamburgers. This series, which started as a comic book about a super hero academy is moving in strange Mad Max territory and it’s mildly entertaining. It’s more about shock factors and almost funny situation than anything serious. Sure, it continues the random genocide of the Skrulls and continues to promote racism about a people that Marvel Comics strongly avoids to identify. But at least, this is more entertaining than the actual Secret Invasion mini-series where the plot’s end can be guessed a mile away. Visually, this series is strong with strong visual expressions for the characters and great action shots. It’s too bad that the artists are assigned to a less important series. © Copyright 2002-2019 by Toon Doctor Inc. - All rights Reserved.
