Relying only on his Spider-sense, will Spider-man be able to become a man without fear just like Daredevil who can fight without sight. The Vulture may be the least of Spider-man’s problem. His alter ego, Peter Parker has a new roommate who wants him to stay away from her groceries! This issue follows a classic Spider-man formula. Spider-man fights a villain; is nearly smashed and defeated by said opponent. He returns to his apartment to mend his wounds; he figures out a plan to lure the villain; fights the villain and win. Mix a few domestic issues about the complicated life of Peter Parker and viola – and instant Spider-man story. This one is not memorable but not badly executed. I’ve fallen late in my Spider-man readings the last few weeks, but this issue was a breeze to jump in. I had to check the credits a few time. Kitson and McKone’s work is starting to look like Phil Jimenez. I’m not complaining here. Kitson and McKone have been doing some great work in the past and I’ve always enjoyed the rich textured pages filled with details and realistic renderings. But here, they are beginning to surpass their already excellent work. Morales' inks are thick enough to solidify Kitson’s lines which are usually very thin. I like that. He’s also streamlining the characters’ visual to make them more recognizable as Spider-man characters. J. Jonas Jameson looks like himself. Aunt May looks like herself.
