Jones The whereabout of all the mad scientists that have been disappearing since the beginning of this series is finally revealed. It’s a paradisiac island where they get to create their wildest creations, while being served lemonades by the finest looking women in the world. Who could ask for anything more? Elsewhere, Black Adam, wife Isis, the Question and Renée Montoya discover Intergang’s hideout where Aton, brother of Isis has been kept and tortured. The electricity, as they say, is in the air. This is another origin issue for another legacy character from DC Comics’ large stable of characters. It seems that part of the 52 mandate is to revive old characters so that DC Comics not lose its copyrights over them. It’s interesting to see the dignity of Isis when faced with tragedy. She’s probably the only Captain Marvel-inspired character who demonstrates on a regular basis that part of her powers includes infinite wisdom. The artwork in this issue is intriguing. It’s a mix of clean ink lines, and spotty dots at the same time. It feels like a clean Geoff Darrow. Yet, it captures the essence of the story in each setting very well. The scenes on the island are cleaner and tight, while the hidden dungeon is dirty. As for the origin of Wildcat, in the back of the issue, Ordway is a great pick for the story.
