Psycho-Pirate and Hugo Strange have taken control of Gotham, the new Superman-level hero that Batman has been watching. Gotham goes on a wrecking escapade and promises to destroy the city. As the plot continues to unravel, the Suicide Squad’s Amanda Waller reveals her connection to this messy affair. Can Batman stop Gotham?

Tom King is using short cuts to write what he would probably like to be an epic tale. Introducing Amanda Waller plays well for the Suicide Squad film now playing but the revelation seems shallow and rushed, much like the rest of this storyline which never felt deep and well anchored. The moments with Waller are fun but they feel out of place. More should have been done with Gotham and his sister, before turning them into villains. It feels like this storyline will be wrapped up quickly and possibly establish Gotham as a what if Superman had been raised almost like Batman...

David Finch is great here but Jordie Bellaire who everyone says is the greatest colourist working this year overpowers the drawings with very dark hues which suppress the beautiful art underneath. I though his job was to enhance pencils and inks, not submerge them.
