Actionopolis - The Books Kids WANT To Read

Komikwerks announced today that two more titles in their much-anticipated Actionopolis book line – BLACKFOOT BRAVES SOCIETY and THE ANUBIS TAPESTRY -- are now available in the July Diamond Previews Catalog.

The books feature work by both up-and-coming and veteran comics creators -- creators like Bruce Zick ("The Mighty Thor" and various Disney and Pixar films), Christopher E. Long ("Easy Way", "X-Men
Unlimited") and Michael Geiger (artist for such video game shops as EIDOS, Ubisoft and Sony).

"Producing the Actionopolis line has been an amazing experience," said publisher Shannon Denton. "But the most gratifying thing so far is the reactions we've been getting from the kids who have read early copies
of the books.

"For example 'Blackfoot Braves Society' was previewed by eighth graders at North Cache Middle School and they all been crazy for it. We've gotten similar reactions on our other books."

Kids aren't the only ones excited about the beautiful, hardbound illustrated prose chapter books. Industry professionals have had good things to say as well.

"Bruce Zick lives in a rich world of fantasy. Fortunately there is a portal into it – his effortless drawing style and his thoughtful, descriptive prose. Indeed, although THE ANUBIS TAPESTRY is his world
entirely, he is a generous host," said Chris Wedge, director of the animated hits ICE AGE and ROBOTS.

"I love the idea of the Actionopolis line of books in general," said Chris Ryall, Editor-in-Chief, IDW PUBLISHING, "but based on Long & Geiger's fanciful appealing work on BLACKFOOT BRAVES SOCIETY, it's even better in practice than it is in theory. As a new parent, I can't wait until my kid's old enough to read this kind of book."

Look for Actionopolis books on page 300 of the July Diamond Previews catalog, listed under Komikwerks. The ordering codes are JUL06 3280 (for THE ANUBIS TAPESTRY) and JUL06 3281 (for BLACKFOOT BRAVES SOCIETY).
