ARCHIE & HIS FRIENDS VISIT THE ONLY COMIC
SHOP LOCATED IN A U.S. PUBLIC LIBRARY!
This October, Archie Comics is pleased to present a very special
story in the pages of ARCHIE #570. In the past, the cause of public libraries
has been championed in several stories, particularly those
that spotlighted the Los Angeles Library's special "Teen 'Scape"
section. Archie and his friends have also spent plenty of
time in real life comic shops and real comic conventions in
various special issues.
Now, those two special worlds come together as Archie and his
friends travel to Salt Lake City, Utah and visit the famous “City Library.” Within
the library’s walls is Night Flight Comics, the only comic shop actually
housed within a U.S. public library!
In the story, “The City Library”, the Riverdale High students meet
Night Flight manager and co-owner Mimi Cruz, library director Nancy
Tessman and other real life folks who teach them the importance of
literature and all the arts in their state-of-the-art, multimedia facility!
The teens’ creative juices really start flowing as they are exposed
to much stimulating literature, art and technology.
Don’t miss this very special issue that is sure to take its place
among the other famous Archie stories spotlighting real life places!
ARCHIE #570, ships 10/4. 32-page, full color
comic, $2.25 US. SCRIPT: George Gladir. ART:
Stan Goldberg.
