Take one chimpanzee, add several beers, toss in an alien power glove, simmer over a complete lack of motivation, and garnish it with one sarcastic scientist living in the body of toad. This is the recipe for the latest comic book from Imperium Comics, The Furious Fist of the Drunken Monkey.
Writer/Artist Rich Stahnke, crafts a humorous, action-adventure comic featuring a reluctant chimpanzee, Chip, who finds himself in possession of an alien gauntlet. A source of mysterious power, the gauntlet imbues its wearer with great strength, stamina, and speed. Al, a talking toad with an incredible IQ, accompanies Chip as he fights to defend Bigg City from the menace of The Gene Gnome. The only problem is, they would both rather get drunk, than fight for truth and justice. Stahnke says, "Chip is unmotivated, crass, and sometimes quite raw, but he’s got a good heart and when he sees someone in need of assistance he’ll step up and act in their defense."
"Imperium Comics is very pleased to be working with Rich," says PublicityDirector Glenn Barbis. "I have had the honor and pleasure of collaborating with Rich in the past, and we at Imperium have seen The Furious Fist of the Drunken Monkey in it's various stages of development. So, when Rich approached us about publishing Chip’s origin story, we jumped at the chance to add another great title under the Imperium Comics banner."
"The folks at Imperium have been great to work with. I’m excited by the response I’m getting from people who’ve seen previews of the book," said creator Rich Stahnke. "After all, who doesn’t like monkeys, right? Yeah, I know chimpanzees aren’t monkeys. It’s all explained in the book."
The Furious Fist of the Drunken Monkey (MAR042673 F [MR]) will be available for pre-orders in the March edition of Diamond Comics Previews, for product shipping in May.

The Man of Steel's powerful new story arc "Godfall" continues its sales momentum as DC Comics announces that ACTION COMICS #812 Second Printing, ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN #625 Second Printing, and SUPERMAN #202 all have sold out at the publisher.
SUPERMAN #202 (DEC030251) sold out at DC on February 27, two days after reaching stores on February 25.
ACTION COMICS #812 Second Printing (DEC035285) and ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN #625 Second Printing (DEC035286) both sold out on February 27, five days before their in-store date of March 3.
"Joe Kelly, Mike Turner and Talent Caldwell all were really psyched to do this story," says Senior Editor Eddie Berganza. "From the first image of Superman on a motorcycle, we knew this was going to be a unique story with a lot of surprises. And I also want to thank Peter Steigerwald for his amazing color work on the books."
