With the recent announcement that Jason M. Burns' graphic novel The Expendable One is being developed into a film by Intrepid Pictures, the young writer's career continues to soar.  The Massachusetts-native will release six comic/graphic novel titles throughout the remainder of 2007 while also working in both film and television where he continues to develop projects, both original and based on his works in the comic industry.

"The Expendable One being made into a film is a dream come true," states Burns.  "The deal was actually solidified late last year, but it was kept under wraps until all of our ducks were in a row.   The same goes for a couple of my other projects, including the series A Dummy's Guide to Danger and the upcoming The Underworld Railroad.  As eager as I am to talk about where those are at, I have to keep it mum until I get the green light."

2007 will see the release of The Expendable One: The Boob Versus the Boobs (August), the highly anticipated The Underworld Railroad (August), the Goonies-like action adventure The Sleepy Truth (October), A Dummy's Guide To Danger: Lost at Sea (Fall), the horror romp Rabid (Winter), and the comedic adventure Imaginary Friends (Winter).

"I'm always writing, whether it's a comic script, a film script or just a bunch of scribbles in a notepad," states Burns.  "With every project I complete, I learn how to better hone my craft and improve on what I do.   My fingers are crossed that I'll have a long career in comics, because in all honesty, there's nothing better than letting your imagination soar in the genre.   I've loved every second of my time in comics thus far."

Burns was born and raised in Massachusetts where he began his career managing musical acts and working as an entertainment journalist.   While he served as the founder and Editor in Chief of the nationally distributed pop culture publication Severe Magazine, Burns parted ways with the company in early 2006 and joined Viper Comics as Assistant Publisher where he continues to work, helping to seek out and develop new ideas for the company.
