I liked this comic mainly because it’s a back issue, and back issues are always fun because it brings you back to that time when you first saw it, or at least remember hearing about it. Heck, maybe you collected the whole series, whatever the case may be Weapon X #1 was thoroughly enjoyable!

The cover got me wanting to open up this book right away, so I did, and much to my delight I delved into the Age of Apocalypse! Wolverine is apparently Jean Grey’s true love and Cyclops works for Apocalypse along with his brother Havok.
Wolvie and Jean ride toward apocalypse base on the back of a sentinel. Once inside they wreak havoc against Havok so to speak. They escape the same way and then we see Apocalypse commanding his lackeys and Cyclops is apparently a top ranking mutant in the service of the evil Apocalypse. The end of this comic sets the stage for a big battle between the renegade mutants and the massive army of Apocalypse. The world is already half destroyed how can they do any more damage, and what are they fighting for? Perhaps it's only for their lives and sanity.
Art – 6 of 10 very detailed, however the colors lack any sort of shadings and seem very flat. Typical of the time frame this comic was published back in March 1995.
Story – 6 of 10 – Pretty interesting for it’s time.
Layout – 7 of 10 – Very much like a sci-fi action movie.
Overall – 6.5 of 10 – Brings back memories and very enjoyable!
