Dad, or is it mom, is a super hero who works in an ultra policed and Eastern European city. As soon as someone commits a crime, he’s there to save the day and stop the hooligans. It’s no wonder I have befriended a mischievous alley cat who shows me all types of ways to get back at dad and force him to pay more attention to me than the city he vigorously protects. Will dad ever pay attention to me?
A stopped motion short movie, Superhero’s Son is a simple story with bright animation. The story is so simple yet so true, that it will appeal to most viewers. Parents who try too hard to be everything to their kids, yet miss the obvious needs that they have will pause and ponder some of the consequences of this film. There’s only on life to live and sometime, doing absolutely nothing, is as important as always being busy. I’m making a mental note of that.
Stop motion is always a pleasure to see. It’s one of the most raw for of animation, yet, it’s filled with precision and the patience of animators. Beautiful sets and funnily designed characters complements this short movie.
