This issue takes all the continuity issues surrounding Plastic Man, connects them to the whole DC-universe continuity mess and makes jolly good fun of them. Plastic Man's wife and his son, Luke from the JLA make their appearance in this issue along with the Time Trapper, the Justice League and the regular supporting cast, an unusually intelligent Woozy Winks and the always-violent FBI agent Morgan. Newcomers to Plastic Man may be left a little puzzled about what all the fuss is about but old-time DC hands will just love the hysterical debates about heroic archetypes, the hi-jinks at the JLA watchtower and even the brief glimpses of the annual JLA picnic. Perhaps there is a little too much reference to other, older comic books but there is enough slapstick to keep the the newcomers interested. As for the art, Baker really stretches his capabilities here, not only delivering a dead-on Alex Ross parody but even showing brief flashes of Kirby, Severin and Sergio Aragones. This book deserves all the awards it gets and certainly deserves better sales than it is getting.
