The website for the upcoming graphic novel, “Red Moon” has officially launched at RedMoonGraphicNovel.com. Fans of comic books and graphic novels that are interested in how a book is put together can now go through that process with artist/author, David McAdoo and producer, Steve Kozak.  By visiting the website, fans will be with David and Steve as the book is created, published and sold at comic book conventions all across the United States.
 
Raised in the quiet suburbs of middle America, the unknowing hero of “Red Moon” is a small dog named Mox. The family that owns him seems different now that he’s not a puppy anymore and Mox is slowly coming to the realization that the world around him is changing quickly. Mox is unhappy in his suburban pen but Daeden, a street-wise stray dog, is there to help. Daeden breaks Mox out of his fenced-in yard and shows him that the world outside the fence can be unimaginably wonderful...and tragically terrifying! Once freed of his confines Mox begins having horrific visions of a world in destruction; forests of fire, crumbling mountains and sunken cities, all under the ominous stare of a red moon. What do the visions mean and why do they send Mox into an uncontrollable frenzy? With that, Mox and Daeden’s journey begins. And along that journey they will cross dangerous enemies, make powerful allies and come face to face with some of the most fantastic ancient sages of the animal world.

Artist/author of “Red Moon”, David McAdoo says, “I’m a huge fan of taking a personal story and mounting it on a massive-scale background and trying to make it work. Stemming probably most rudimentarily from my love of the classic Greek myths and legends, some of the most epic stories ever told, but definitely and most notably from the story arcs of the comics and films of my childhood. Most obviously an influence on the “Red Moon” story are the two animated features “The Secret of NIMH” and “Watership Down”. Both epic tales in their own right, but more importantly to note is the seriousness they took with storylines and the “talking animal” sub-genre. It wasn’t until I recognized what impact those two movies had on me that I knew I could write something like “Red Moon”.
