The Wait is Over: Septagon Studios to Publish "SCORN"

SCORN: OBSESSED is a full-color story, written by Kevin Moyers (Machined) and illustrated by Philipp S. Neundorf (Gunn, Runes of Ragnan), in a brutally dark and violent vision of a young man with disturbing events in his past.
The story revolves around 19-year-old Michael Riggs, who witnesses the murder of his best friend at the hand of notorious gang leader Robert Torres. Michael becomes obsessed, and nothing can stop his vicious and bloody rampage of vigilante justice .
“When the black and white version was released at Wizard World Chicago, readers were overwhelmed," said Septagon President Nicola Defina.
Creator Kevin Moyers described the book as “a more emotional story than most,” and uses actual events to set the story in motion. “What sets Scorn apart from most comic book stories is that it’s not some big muscle-bound jock tearing up the place. Michael is someone we can all identify with. He's a realistic hero. He's just an ordinary guy in an extraordinary situation,” Moyers said.
SCORN is influenced by a dark tale of revenge that uses real Chicago locations as its backdrop. It’s a modern narrative of pure retribution and passion that truly comes from the heart, and puts the reader on an emotional roller coaster.
“It has a lot of teen angst and anger to it. I found myself becoming depressed as I tried to get myself into Michael's emotional state. It was really bizarre,” Moyers said.
"When I first saw their work online, I knew that Kevin Moyers and Philipp Neundorf were great storytellers, not only with words, but also with art. They explore characteristics of society to which we can all relate. Philipp’s unconventional, gritty artwork is something truly unique. Comics readers will get a whole new experience by reading this masterpiece,” Defina said.
