This is a horror story in comics form with a mysterious bat-like creature carrying out a series of brutal murders. All clues point to the former Man-Bat, Kirk Langstrom and even Kirk believes he may be the perpetrator. The killings get the attention of Batman as well as the villain, Hush, who has his own mysterious agenda. This tells us this story will be more than just a big monster-hunt. The tale unfolds slowly but with great care, building up the suspense very well while giving the reader enough clues to keep him guessing on what happens next. The art helps maintain the mood and the sense of dread without wallowing in gore.
