Although it’s under a Gilbert Hernandez cover, LOVE AND ROCKETS, VOL II #13’s highlights are the work of Gilbert’s brother, Jaime Hernandez. Charming dialogue, dangling plot threads, surprising revisits, and engaging hints at future events characterize Jaime’s stories. This current Hopey storyline may be the deepest look we get of the character, and it is certainly Jaime’s most mature use of Hopey… at least in a while.
All this for $4.50, and Gilbert’s contributions aren’t bad, either.
