Super heroes, zombies and vampires descended on the Big Apple this weekend, as the 2010 New York Comic-Con rolled into town. The annual convention salutes the hottest trends in comic books, movies, video games and pop culture.

Close to 100,000 people attended to celebrate comic books, science fiction, and fantasy at the fifth annual N.Y. Comic Con, which this year was combined with the fourth Anime Festival for fans of Japanese animation and pop culture.

Stars of shows "Nikita" "Battlestar Galactica" and upcoming movies like "Hanna", "Your Highness" and "The Thing" were on hand as thousands gathered at the Jacob K. Javits Center in Midtown for the three-day extravaganza.
