Jeff Lemire and Joe Bennett bring the Dreadfuls storyline to a conclusion in this issue, as the Terrifics re-unite, and the team expands.

By and large, this is really one big fight scene, with an epilogue. I don’t mind that, though. Enough time was spent in the last couple of issues developing the characters on their own, and then bringing the group back together. Tesla Strong, Mrs Terrific, and Offspring all join the group for the big battle, and at least one of them remains after the fighting is done.

Very good art on this story, a lot of extremely dynamic visuals, making the most of the conflicts. I particularly enjoyed the fight between Phantom Girl and Phantom Boy. Considering that Plastic Man and Offspring are fighting another stretchable character, that’s saying a lot. Not that it’s easy to draw so many elongating characters, but generally Plastic Man would be the one to steal the show.

But as much as I am enjoying The Terrifics, I always find it difficult to find much to say about the individual issues. I am not sure why that is. They clip along so fast, and I am invested in the characters, but at the end, I’m usually just left saying “I loved it,” with little other insight.

The epilogue gives us a multiversal glimpse, with some intriguing cameos, characters I hope to see more of as the series goes on.

A very good resolution to a very good storyline, and I am also glad about the new characters that have been brought onto the team. Thumbs up all around.
