I keep thinking I have reached the end of this series.  And then every issue leads into another one.

To be fair, the entire world of Earth 2 was destroyed a couple of issues ago, and the new one they tried to create has not come together.  So one could be forgiven for assuming that this meant the book was over.

But it is also because of Rebirth.  Earth 2 was probably the best thing to come out of the New 52, but a rebooted Justice Society is still not the real thing, and there have been plenty of hints scattered around the DC universe in the last couple of months that the classic team will be making a return.
So where does that leave this book?

Well, it still has a cast of great characters, although a bit smaller than it was.  And this issue is quite entertaining, as Val-Zod determines that the world they are now inhabiting simply wasn’t “finished,” and Fury bursts her way through to it.

But even these characters have noticed that they, and their costumes, are being altered by some outside force.

The issue comes to a tantalyzing conclusion, and throughout uses the image(s) of the classic Sandman in a very creepy way.  So many good things happening in this book, although I am simply at a loss to figure out exactly where the title is heading, or if it truly is coming to an end.

I do not want to lose these characters.  But I want the real JSA back as well.  Don’t let me down, DC, find a way to have both versions, in some fashion, in your reborn universe.
