Lois and Clark are busy shopping for new digs in Metropolis. With both of them back at the Planet, commuting in from Hamilton County just isn’t practical, but they seem overly concerned with Jon’s adjustment to the idea. Having moved around a kid myself, I have to agree with Lois. He’ll cope with it.

Meanwhile, Hank Henshaw has a grudge against Superman, and he knows he’s not the only one. So he’s been busy recruiting others, creating an all-new Superman Revenge Squad. Clearly it won’t be long before the new Squad squares off against the object of their hatred.

This issue is merely the opening salvo in the latest story arc. Who will be caught in the crossfire remains to be seen, as well as what it means for the future of the Kents in Metropolis.

Patch Zircher seems to have benefited from some time away from the book. His work seems tighter than it did before, reaffirming my belief that he has been overworked. He’s cultivated a little bit of a retro feel to his work, sort of blend of Mike Sekowksy and Eduardo Barreto.

And I must acknowledge Dan Jurgens ongoing role as the Man of Steel’s current raconteur. He has been building a substantial body of work that elevates a comic book writer or artist above merely a hired hand. NO doubt his influence on Superman will continue to resonate in years to come, much like Boring, Swan and Byrne.
