IDW Offers The Last Resort

New five-issue mini series by Palmiotti and Gray launching in July

Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray, writers of the hit series, Jonah Hex and Power Girl, are partner with IDW Publishing on a brand new, five-issue mini series. The Last Resort pays homage to 1970’s disaster films and grindhouse classics with non-stop adrenalin, courtesy of flesh-eating bio waste victims and a bevy of sexy broads. Issue #1 of The Last Resort features amazing cover art from Darwyn Cooke, the series regular cover artist, and Amanda Conner, who provides a lovely variant. The entire series will be beautifully illustrated by Giancarlo Caracuzzo, who captures each gruesome moment and voluptuous figure with painstaking attention to detail.

Jimmy Palmiotti commented, “The Last Resort is just what I want after months of super hero comics. I want my comics: R-rated; I want my sexy broads topless and I want our characters to be regular Joes that will just about do any atrocious thing to stay live. The great thing about working with IDW is that, unlike most companies, they let us write whatever we want, and we went nuts with this book.”

“The Last Resort is a mash up of all the genres that Jimmy and I love: the disaster flick, the monster movie, survival horror and the idea that people are more messed up than we’d like to admit,” said Justin Gray. “The fact that all of this is set in what would be paradise makes it all the most entertaining.
