Grandpa has a vivid imagination and he likes to read super hero comics. This time he’s reading a Marvel comic book featuring the Human Torch. Donning a caper, over his pyjamas, Grandpa decides to use his new powers. His first target is his own granddaughter which he burns. As his granddaughter runs for safety, it’s up to Grandma to saves the day. What super hero will Grandpa become next, to counter her attack?

This hilarious short shows that even with age, some people remain eternal children. It’s a tender story intertwined with comic book panels and real artwork from the Human Torch comic strip. Like many films these days, the comic book world is an impressive inspiration for storylines and the structure with which one tells a story. This story is very heart warming and although it makes us think the Grandpa is alienated, in the end, his delusions are more mischievous than tragic. This film walks a fine line between reality and imagination without confusing its viewers.

The main point of the cinematography is the use of comic book panels to frame the action. The effects are not particularly complicated but they are effective.

9/10
