Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of Square Enix interactive products in North America, today announced that FINAL FANTASY XI: The Vana'diel Collection will ship to retailers on August 16th, 2005. Including the expansion packs Rise of the Zilart, and Chains of Promathia as well as Tetra Master, the wildly popular and addictive mini-game, FINAL FANTASY XI: The Vana'diel Collection will provide the easiest installation ever of the first cross-platform, cross-continent massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) on one DVD. The special gold foil All-In-One packaging will carry a suggested retail price of $29.99.

FINAL FANTASY XI subscribers will receive their first 30 days of access without charge. In addition, the package will include a Vana'diel Buddy Pass which allows a friend to create an account and play the basic FINAL FANTASY XI game free for 30 days. Also included is an iTunes Collector's Card for a free music download from the FINAL FANTASY XI Collection.

"It's never been easier to experience and enter Vana'diel with the new, easy to install DVD," said Yasu Kurosawa, North America Online Producer, Square Enix, Inc. "I hope that this package will bring in the fans who have been curious but a little thrown off by the previous installation methods so they can finally enjoy all the great features FINAL FANTASY XI has to offer."

"We are very pleased to be able to bring FINAL FANTASY XI to gamers in a much more accessible package," said Ichiro Otobe, President and COO of Square Enix, Inc. "Since the launch 3 years ago, FINAL FANTASY XI has constantly evolved, always incorporating the demands of players, so I think the newcomers will really enjoy the experience that awaits them in Vana'diel."

About FINAL FANTASY XI

A blend of sorcery and technology, the once peaceful world of Vana'diel stands at the brink of war as a power struggle slowly emerges between three nations. The struggle focuses on the control of crystals, the essential source of all creation. An unknown force rises in Vana'diel with a hunger for the energy within the crystals...

In FINAL FANTASY XI, players undertake multiple adventures through Vana'diel, a complex gaming world with hundreds of areas to explore. The gaming universe contains the award-winning visual content, innovative gameplay, and deep storyline that the FINAL FANTASY series is famous for. The inclusion of the Rise of the Zilart and Chains of Promathia expansion packs expand the storyline and allow an even greater variety of jobs, higher-level skills, and abilities. Massive additions have recently been made including a bevy of new spells, abilities, items, equipment and quests as well as new systems such as guild points, merit points, fishing, and Ballista rankings. New areas have also been added, opening up an even larger environment to explore.
