Today,
TOMY Corporation and D3 Publisher of America announced the upcoming
release of
Naruto: Ninja Destiny
for Nintendo DS. The game will be the first-ever head-to-head 3D
Naruto
fighting game
for the handheld system. Like all recent Naruto fighting games,
Ninja
Destiny
is based on VIZ Media's
Naruto
television
series and will feature characters from the show. Players will be
able to use both screens to their advantage through the unique
gameplay, which features trademark ninja moves and some
Naruto
universe specific combat techniques.
Laura Yoshioka, TOMY Corporation's director for consumer software, spoke about the game's development and how the franchise's fa ns drove the process saying, “ We’ve listened to the fans and made a slew of improvements to the Japanese original, including a much faster frame rate, additional characters, and never-before-seen content”. Featuring scenes, characters, and storylines from up to the 140th episode of the hit animated television series currently airing on Cartoon Network, NARUTO: Ninja Destiny offers an intense single-player story and versus mode, along with wireless multiplayer combat. Naruto: Ninja Destiny is slated for release some time in February.
