It’s 1951, and German forces have left a mess all over the word. In a sea station, there’s an old experiment has left some creatures killing the American soldiers investigating the laboratory. The American government assembles a team of superb fighters and outcasts to investigate this station. Although each are great fighters on their own, team work is not easy, and their opponent far worse. Will they make it alive?
One thing I can say about all series from Dakuwaka that I have read thus far is that they are written by better than average writers. In fact, their stories are usually better than anything published by DC Comics or Marvel Comics. This is not a lie. There are several characters in this story, each with specific characteristics and powers. By the end of the story, you’ll know more about each of them, while wanting to know what lies after the cliffhanger. Force 51 will entertain you, starting with new characters that will grow quickly on you. If there is work from one publisher that I would recommend heartily, it’s Dakuwaka. I’m not the type to do that in a review. So accept my honest opinion and word. This is a sleeper hit worth picking.
The thing with Dakuwaka, is that the artwork is always a love it or hate it. All characters have the same forehead. That tends to get on my nerve. But besides the forehead issue, everything else is rendered professionally.
9/10 (one point off because of the foreheads!)
