Located just 40 miles off the waters of Jacksonville, Florida, is the island of San Tiburon -- a tropical paradise. Home to white sandy beaches, beautiful wave crests, warm island breezes... and permanent residence of 185 of the world's most notorious supervillains. Welcome to San Tiburon Federal Correctional Institution. Since 1979, this Federal facility has taken on the prisoners that just can’t be held anywhere else – men and women tried and convicted of crimes against humanity, and brought to justice by costumed heroes. Hope is not welcome here. If you have come seeking rehabilitation... you will not find what you seek. If you have come seeking the truth... you will be disappointed. But if you have come to witness the end of days... come right inside our hallowed walls. We hope you enjoy your stay.

A mysterious new vigilante arrives at San Tiburon on the same day a new Captain of Violent Crime is offered a change of scenery.

Corrective Measures is HBO's "Oz" with Supervillains, and I loved Oz, so you should see where this review is heading. Corrective Measures #1 starts off with a new inmate arriving at San Tiburon Prison, a bad ass named Walter Anthony Locke, who the Warden is alittle worried about - seeing as though he thinks himself a Vigilante, killing criminals and so forth. Meanwhile down at Marion State Pen. Captain. Jason Brody (our main character of this story)  finds himself in what they call a "Minor Disturbance" which is basically something slightly short of a full scale riot. Seeing his partners in trouble, Jason picks up a glass shard and attacks a crazed inmate before he can do them harm - This act leads Jason down a new path, maybe one he doesn't even want. I don't know how to quite say it, but i'm a fan of prison stuff, like TV show's and documentaries and movies and such, so Corrective Measures, for me, was great - taking two worlds i'm into, Superheros (or Villains) and Prison culture and melding them together, it put me in dork paradise.

The Art is great, it seemed to me liked they used a lot of drab colors, which is indicative of prisons and such, it also portrays a more realistic world. Corrective Measures is a great idea, and it's well executed in all areas, writing, art and story. I can recommend this series to everyone, but especially to fans of Prison settings or Mature comics in general. Check the links below to purchase a copy.
