Caper # 6

A female movie star is found brutally murdered and suspicion falls on her husband, an equally-famous male movie star in this crime story set in the 1970s. But this story isn't a rework of the O.J. Simpson case. Instead, the hubby makes no effort to defend himself because he has a worse secret to hide. Winick's newest story is compelling and sets up a genuine mystery that should intrigue the readers. It is a bit disappointing to see that he is resorting to kinky sex as a major plot device. Hollywood and kinky sex are sooo overdone.
John Severin's art is a wonder to behold. No, it isn't flashy or ground-breaking but it perfectly captures the mood of the story, the emotions of the characters and more importantly, the very feel of the 1970s, without having it turn into a parody with mulletheads and Tony Manero-lookalikes on every page. Get this man on a Jonah Hex miniseries ASAP.
