I'll admit it, I have yet to play a WW2 game, the market is flooded with them, while I was at ebgames I saw Call of Duty sitting on the shelf, looking pretty lonely, it only took me a few moments to decide to buy it, seeing as how their's very few new games I want to play at the moment.

In Call of Duty you take the role of American, British and Russian soldiers each in different campains. The game uses the Quake 3 engine and really runs well on most decent systems and looks good too. Saying this game is intense is an understatement because It has some of the most exciting action sequences i've ever experienced and it's sound design is as good as it get's (you'll realize this in the Russians first campain)

The game is of average length for a first person shooter, about 10-12 hours and offers multiplayer when your done with the singleplayer, the servers are still pretty healthy even after a few years of being on the market.

It's hard for me to come up with something for the content section because in all honesty, the game is very typical in design, missions vary from, steal the documents to save this guy to eliminate this or that. If you've played a WW2 shooter before then im sure you've seen these weapons, this isn't based on fantasy, so the weapons can't change from game to game. The real star of this game is the combat, it's just plain exciting, go ahead, be a hero, run out guns ablazing...and you'll find your ass dead, everytime. You have to take cover, pick your shots, know when to move and...yes, know when to be the hero.

I really enjoyed Call of Duty, it's impossible for me to judge it in comparison to other WW2 shooters like Medal of Honor or Battlefield 1942 because it's the only WW2 game i've played, but I am sure of one thing, this game, in terms of quality and general awesomeness, would be hard to beat.

If you have any interest in WW2 games, don't hesitate to buy it.
