While the Calculator kidnaps a member of the Birds of Prey, Black Canary touches base with former beau, Green Arrow to settle things once and for all. Will the captured bird tell all of Oracle’s secrets to its captors?
It means a lot that Simone has to write a story to fix all the messes other lesser writers have done with Birds of Prey characters. In particular, the story with Green Arrow would be useless, if the Green Arrow team would treat character it borrows from other series consistently. I guess it’s too much to ask. This story was fun and continued the Calculator storyline discreetly, instead of putting it forward.
The shopping mall part of the story looked nice, although I wonder why would someone as secretive as Oracle continues to walk in public with the Black Canary’s whose identity is public. Well, considering Green Arrow has a secret identity again, while Canary doesn’t have, the problem is one of internal logic throughout the DC comic books.
