Another quiet issue by Simone and the Birds. They are moving to Metropolis and organize a party to celebrate the Oracle’s recovery from her life threatening infection. It’s a fun issue with a short segment with Black Canary fighting a goofball villain, while the Huntress goes home and tries to save the live of a boy and his family.

Simone enjoys those quiet issues which she often uses to set up upcoming storylines. Although discreet, we can see that some of the guesses with secret identities are having trying to fit in as best as possible with those without. Figuring out who knows what about whom and what the implications are half the fun. If you’re a comic book geek, this is fun.

There’s a short chapter with Bruce Timm on the art shores. He’s the best for the odd story. A more serious story with the Huntress is handled by Lopez and Blanco. The main artist, Melo, makes the character as similar as possible to established designs by former regular artist, Ed Benes. It’s a great touch.
