SCEA
announced this week that it is now offering popular MTV programs on
its UMD (Universal Media Disc) format for PSP. With this first such
collaboration between SCEA and a major TV content provider, PSP
owners can now get their favourite MTV programming, including
Jackass
,
Beavis
& Butt-head
and
Aeon
Flux
on the go. Starting this week UMD videos will be available for $14.99
USD and CAD each. The videos available now include
Beavis
& Butt-head: The Mike Judge Collection Vol. 2 and 3

Jackass

Wildboyz Vol. 1 and 2
,
Viva
La Bam Vol. 2, 3 and 4

Activision
announced today that, according to The NPD Group, Chart Track and The
GFK Group,
Call
of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
was the #1 titles for units sold worldwide for calendar year 2007.
According to the sales statistics, the game sold in excess of seven
million units worldwide since its launch in November. Considering the
buzz that has been going around about the game and the critical
acclaim, it's no wonder that the game became so popular so quickly.
Infinity Ward, the game's developer, also reinvented the franchise by
taking it from a genre that many felt was starting to become
overcrowded
,
World War II shooter,
and bringing it to a different style of first-person shooter, action
game and modernizing it in this game. The game has secured more than
18 perfect score reviews, over 40 combined Editor's Choice and Game
of the Year awards in the U.S., and has been nominated for 10 Academy
of Interactive Arts and Sciences awards, including Game of the Year.

This
week, Electronic Arts announced the
Tiger
Woods PGA Tour 08
Buick Enclave GamerNet Contest, a play-to-win contest that has gamers
rack up points in challenges, to win prizes, including a Buick
Enclave. Each weekday, during the contest, EA SPORTS will post two
clips at 7:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time in the Contest Channel under
the EA SPORTS GamerNet menu in
Tiger
Woods PGA Tour 08
.
The clips will showcase challenges that the contest's participants
will need to match or beat in order to gain points. At the end of the
contest period, the participant who has racked up the most points
will win a brand new Buick Enclave (new, except for the fact that
Tiger Woods himself used it during the December 2007 Target World
Challenge). The contest ends 11:59 p.m. Pacific Standard Time on
February 6
