New Mutants # 4

OK, this is not your old New Mutants! These kids aren't going out on missions, they don't have their own jump suits (uniforms) and they don't have code names (I do here they will get these however but they will be more in the vain of nicknames). This is a more school, growing pains type of book.

I REALLY enjoyed this issue! It felt so genuine, you jus wanted to see how things unfolded for the characters. All the dialogue seemed natural and felt right. The interaction between David and his sister was real nice. It was also good to see (even though it was brief and they weren't the focus) Sofia, Kevin and Laurie Look out for the return of an old Generation X member as well, should make you smile.

I've said it once and I'll say it again…….the art is messed! Proportions are out of sync, expressions don't always fit, movement jus isn't captured well and there is an air of woodenness to characters at times. This isn't a flashy book though, it's not Beverly Hills 90210. It's more like Degrassi Junior High and I think it's because of this the art doesn't spoil the story and creates a friendly grounded air.
