While still far from my favourite incarnation of the Justice League, Bryan Hitch’s big story arc with the children of the Leaguers coming back in time does proceed with a good, solid revelation in this latest issue, as we find out who Sovereign is.

Unfortunately, my reticence about spoilers means that I will not reveal that here, which gives me not an awful lot to talk about. I will say that the identity of Sovereign makes sense given what has been established so far in this storyline.

While the earlier issues of this arc delved into the relationships and emotional states of the children and their super-parents, the more recent issues have been more action-based.

I have to admit, these last two issues have been weaker. I am not certain just what it is with Hitch’s writing that tends to turn me off, but it’s in play here again, though less so than usual.

But the big reveal does mean that I am looking forward to the next issue, and this still is the best storyline from the book, by far.
