Leaving it Harley to set up housekeeping directly above the buried tomb of an ancient evil. When a horde of human-sized ants arise from underground, they bring with them the chrysalis of Zorcrom, a human-ant hybrid diety thingy with mystical powers.

So what’s a girl to do? Well, if you’re Harley, nothing. This is a job for super-heroes, and even if she were on the side of the angels, she’s got no super-powers. So it’s best to let Superman handle it. Or Aquaman. Or the Wonder Twins. Or Captain Caveman. Anyone but her. Who will answer the call? Ah, that would be telling.

John Timms is taking something of a break this issue, illustrating only handful of pages, while Khari Evans does the heavy lifting. I like Timms’ work very much, but too much of a good thing is a bad thing, y’know. So I don’t mind him taking a breather and allowing someone else the spotlight. Evans’ work is very much in tune with what other artists have brought to the book.

Alex Sinclair’s colors over the issues have helped build a visual consistency on the book. However, maybe I’m just noticing it, or maybe it’s the blend of his color with Evans’ artwork. Either way, it seems like his coloring stands out in this issue. While I believe he is deserving of notice, I feel coloring is a supportive role. As such, it is best when it seems so natural that it doesn’t stand out. I do believe it’s an integral ingredient to the overall illustrative process, and Sinclair does great work. Feel free to disagree with me; maybe my expectations are simply different.
