Superman will be battling General Zod this summer on the big screen in Man of Steel and in the pages of the Richard Donner and Geoff Johns written and Adam Kubert illustrated Superman The Last Son of Krypton graphic novel. DC Comics' FCBD 2013 offering is none other than the first chapter of this sure to be instant classic graphic novel.

Now anyone who has followed me here at ComicBookBin for any length of time knows that I am a HUGE Superman fan rivalled only by our own Phillip Schweier (who also covered this year's DC Comics FCBD release Superman news when it was fresh and not concrete yet) who has been pretty upset with how DC Comics has handled the Superman books and stories post the New 52 relaunch. Yeah, I've been pretty harsh on the good folks at DC Comics and I still haven't quite developed the affinity for the "new" Superman that I had for the Post-Crisis Superman, but I am looking forward to Man of Steel, coupled with Superman The Last Son of Krypton, and the new Scott Snyder and Jim Lee helmed Superman Unchained (also debuting this summer) to bring me back into the fold. If DC Comics' wants to rekindle my love of currently produced Superman comics then Superman The Last Son of Krypton and Superman Unchained are going to be the books to do it.

I know Man of Steel is going to rock, so no convincing is needed there. I mean, have you seen the newest trailer?!
