I approached this software with skepticism initially; however this software delievered what it said it would. You can use most popular image formats, such as JPEG, BMP, GIF, and a few others. Almost any image can be imported and used in any of the selected page layouts you choose for your comic. I had fun putting the already established background clipart along with my personal photos, I then added balloon text to make it seem interesting.

If you are a fan of comics from young adult to the elderly I think this program will be quite enjoyable, and it's not too hard to use after a bit of tinkering, I didn't even need to read any manuals, but there is online help as well as program installed if need be.

I especially enjoyed the ballon selections and possibilites, I was suprised to find that I could create text with any size and colors, there are several selectable comic fonts to choose from.

The funnest part about the Comic Book Creator is that you can consolidate your comic into a single PDF file and print it or share it with others. I could think of some mischiveous things I would do to co-workers if I had the oppurtunity to make a comic about them, also on the positive side this program seems very kid friendly, and the included content is seemingly suitable for all ages.

I also had the chance to use Marvel Comic Book Creator, this software features all the same as regular Comic Book Creator except that it is limited to using only the Marvel characters and those that can be downloaded online; as for Marvel fans this is great, but for people seeking more creative freedom I suggest the regular version.

As a comic penciller I would have to say that I prefer the regular Comic Book Creator over it's counterparts, and that is because of the freedom of creativity allowed, but if you're a parent buying this for kids then choose the specialized versions, they have fun things in them!
