Britney Spears Demonstrates How Comedy Is Done
Britney Spears is Back

Britney Spears to star in upcoming comic book movie, Alice in New York. Hmm, that would work. If my graphic novel were to become a movie in the near future, I would seriously see Brit playing the role of Angela. She's just the right age and temperament for the role. It would most definitely be a refreshing vehicle for this unique performer. And I do think we can now safely go back to seeing Brit as the unique talent that she is after her role in the recent episode of the CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother.

Ms. Spears was so good in her role as the love-struck receptionist that it is seen as a completely positive career boost. From all I've seen and read, no one can deny that she rose to the occasion. You see the actual episode, and she totally holds her own.  I remember casually tuning into Saturday Night Live when she hosted in 2000 and coming away very impressed with her timing and natural ability. Just for fun, I rented her movie debut, Crossroads (2002), and, I'm telling you, she's great. Rent it.  You'll be pleasantly surprised if you ever doubted Brit.

The CBS sitcom, How I Met Your Mother, is a perfectly fine show. It's basically the CBS answer to the NBC monster hit, Friends. That's really all you need to know. It seems that the show is starting to find its feet. The characters and jokes are probably as good as they're going to get which often is not enough to maintain credible ratings. Enter Britney Spears. Effortlessly, she portrays a goofy receptionist with a crush on the show's main character. She is funny, attractive, and spot on.

Single-handedly, Britney Spears saved a television series from getting the axe. As reported by RTE Entertainment: "Britney Spears' guest appearance on How I Met Your Mother on US TV on Monday night helped the comedy achieve its higher viewership of the season, and means the show will be renewed for a fourth series.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the Spears-starring episode attracted around 10.6m viewers on Monday night; the show usually averages 7.8m."

Well done, indeed.
