The new Fantastic Four, which include the Black Panther and wife, Storm, have returned from an adventure only to find that one of the creatures from the negaverse has made it to Earth and is rampaging through the Baxter building. Can the Fantastic Four stop it in time or will the chaos lead to more troubles?
Honestly, this storyline seems it will be boring. There is not, much effort to make it anything else. The way the bug decided it would take over Earth was already ludicrous last issue. I guess basking in the Fantastic Four’s world means the Black Panther series has to be less mature and more fun. The banter between the Human Torch and the Thing are fun, but hardly something to keep one awake.
This new artist is an improvement over the last one but still not someone I’d like to see stick around on this series. I don’t like how he draws Storm’s face. I long for the days when we had great artists like Scott Eaton handling the artwork. I can understand how someone like John Romita Jr. Would be assigned to special comic book series and thus removed from Black Panther after the first six issues. But surely, Marvel Comics could have kept Eaton. One thing Portela has going is his rendition of the Thing. It one of the best I’ve seen in a while.
