Hardcore action figure collectors can all name some hard to get Japanese import they had to hunt on auction sites or pre-order with a huge mark-up from a store catering to their needs. Well, just in case you thought your collection was over and you wouldn’t have to worry about another hard to get toy line, here’s one for DC Comics collectors. It’s called DC Comics Super hero Collection and it’s only available in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, South Africa and New Zealand, from Eaglemoss Publications.

This new series of collectibles features popular DC Comics characters casted in lead and sold with magazines about the character’s history, images and related publication history. Each action figure is hand painted and looks superior too much of the PVC figures released by DC Direct in the past. The catch here is that the biggest market of collectors interested in these figures is in North America and for obvious reasons to do with Eaglemoss’ license, these are not available or sold to customers outside the countries specified above. In fact, in the case of France, a separate distributor translates the magazines and sells the figures with other specialized figures from European comic book characters.

These lead figures look great, from the pictures obtained. Eaglemoss has already published a similar series based on Marvel Comics’ character earlier this year. In the past, DCDirect, the merchandising unit of DC Comics, obtained the license from foreign marketers to sell similar products in its domestic market.

Eaglemoss Publications recently announced that they would sell their figures through Diamond Comics distribution network. That can only be a good news for North American collectors.
