Lobo’s back and hooks up with Animal Man, Starfire and Adam Strange. What kind of mess is up ahead for the trio of super heroes? Who knows? One thing is certain, Lobo will survive. He always does. As for Lex Luthor, he has put his own Justice League on the map, but is already losing some of his crews. What’s up ahead for Luthor’s League?

The part with Lex Luthor and his team was totally ludicrous. It seemed more like DC Comics trying the American Idol angle rather than trying to tell a serious story. The way the team breaks up so soon is unexpected and badly plotted. There was no foreshadowing into the members’ personality. Luthor is also too quick to part with his team members. I was hoping he had a trick up his sleeves, but it doesn’t look like he does. It’s really the four writers on this series, given their combined brain matter, who can’t make an intelligent story.

And don’t ask me about Starfire. Since when can Starfire breathe and live in the void of space unprotected? Even Superman and The Martian Manhunter have problems pulling this trick.

The redeeming value of this book was that Starfire looked good, although Luthor’s team looked like a bunch of ugly duckling from 1993.
