The Diary of Ralph Dibny

Monday

I spent the night in the pool at the cults clubhouse, the events of the night before had totally drained me. Plus I couldn't find a towel, I mean come on, for a cult with a huge vision quest swimming pool at the centre of their clubhouse you'd think they'd have a larger towel to cultist ratio. I finally decided to get out of the pool around midday, I may be the elongated man but that doesn't mean I don't wrinkle up after a couple of hours in the tub.
After a short scouting of the cults grounds I located what seemed to be their rec-room. A breakfast bar was all laid out with cereal and milk ready to go, which of course was strange as there was no sign of anybody around. I decided to throw caution to the wind and tuck into a healthy bowl of wheaty flakes. I put the new on, the main story of the day seemed to be a development at Lexcorp, seems Luthor has found a way to give everyone super
powers, guess that means more bad guys on the streets for all the “real” heroes to deal with. I turn my attention back to my cereal, and follow that up by knocking some balls round the pool table.

Tuesday

Woke up in a lazyboy, those things aren't as nice to sleep in as they look, thankfully my malleable form allowed me to fit my body to it's unwieldy contours so a semi restful night was had, still can't shake the images from the pool though. A new story has hit the news today (in between Booster Gold whoring himself over the latest diet soda of course) seems those heroes who jetted off in to space to save the universe has returned, more or less. The
images of a 20 foot tall Hawkgirl being wheeled down the streets are pretty much all that's on for the rest of the day. I wonder where all the others got too, probably sunning themselves on some planet somewhere lucky stiffs, kind of reminds me of the honeymoon we took in Barbados.

Wednesday

I decide it's time to leave the Cult of Connor, I doubt they'll be coming back any time soon, wherever wonder girl is I'm not going to find her sitting round there. I take a detour through the park where a couple of cops are shooting the breeze, I overhear them talking about one of their buddies down in Gotham, Renee something or other, turns out she uncovered an alien weapons smuggling ring, nothing surprises me these days, the world just
isn't as simple as it once was.

Thursday

Today I decided to sort out what's left of our stuff, the motel room is too crowded with all the boxes of singed memories, I should throw most of it out, but they're all I have left to remind me of you.

Friday

I decided to take a trip to the hospital, see how everyone's doing. They didn't all make it back, and the ones that did are far from a pretty sight.
Alan seemed to be the best off out of all of them, just a few scratches and a missing eye. Cyborg and Firestorm on the other hand have been moulded together into some hideous grotesque, it's not looking good for the rest of them either. Alan says it was some kind of zeta beam accident. John Henry Irons is still around, not sure why he won't take his armour off though, but if he's helping out I doubt anyone would mention it. Feeling utterly useless I decide to say my goodbyes and get out of there.

Saturday

With so many other heroes gone I almost feel wrong for missing you so much Sue, you weren't any different to them, and to the rest of the world you're just another drop in the ocean, but you'll never be that to me. I need to get to the bottom of this Cult thing, someone ruined your grave for a reason and I'm going to find out why. I'll spend tomorrow hitting the streets, see if I can dig anything up.
